This Saturday, March 25th, Yuga Labs launches their Second Trip to the Otherside, even allowing Otherdeed owners a chance to invite guests along for the ride. Never one to back down from hype, expect Yuga Labs to deliver another amazing experience in their upcoming Second Trip!
It’s time for another trip to the Otherside! The First Trip was a trippy, and fairly impressive, multiplayer demo of the technology behind the Otherside universe. The Second Trip begins soon, and even though I don’t own an Otherdeed, I’m looking forward to seeing what the Otherside team has to show us this time! The Second Trip will feature an official live stream, and I’m sure plenty of other folks will stream it as well.
Second Trip Details
The trip is happening on Saturday, March 25th. But this time around, it’s not just for Otherdeed holders! Each deed holder also has an opportunity to generate a single Guest Code. This Guest Code can be used one time to provide a specific wallet access to the Second Trip. Codes can be generated and redeemed at https://2ndtrip.otherside.xyz/.
Participants will have a chance to customize their character, including adding using certain,owned NFT PFPs as the face for their avatar! This includes a number of PFP collections including Apes, Cryptopunks, Azuki, Moonbirds, Pudgy Penguins, Cool Cats, World of Women, and more!
Login for the Second Trip begins at 11:30am ET (3:30pm UTC) on March 25th, 2023 for both Voyagers and Guests. This system will place everyonee who joins will into a queue. When the trip launches at noon, players will be let in by order of their queue ranking, with Voyagers given first priority. If server capacity is reached, no more players will be allowed in.
Once the trip starts, nobody new can join. If a player disconnects during the event, they have five minutes to rejoin before they lose their spot for the rest of the Trip. Keep an eye on the Otherside Twitter account for an official link on launch day.
Unfortunately, it looks like the image will just be plastered onto a face plate. No 3d renders. Still pretty cool, though!
Anyone who joins the Second Trip with an Otherdeed will have their NFT’s metadata updated to include the addition of the First Obelisk piece.
What is the Otherside?
Otherside is a Metaverse project by Yuga Labs, the founders of the Bored Ape Yacht Club. It is a world of floating islands, each one an NFT Otherdeed (100,000 in total). Otherdeeds come in different tiers, which affects their appearance and their resource production. Each plot can produce up to four different resources. Some lands come with special Artifacts or Koda visitors. We don’t know what effect these special bonuses have, but it will likely be something good. The land NFTs are dynamic, designed to change and evolve based on the owner’s actions.
